If you are curious to know what is the location of one of the most wanted people during the holidays – Santa Claus – here’s your chance to track him on his way!
Google rolled out a Santa tracker webpage based on what is called Santa’s Village, similar to its trackers from 2012 and 2011. The dashboard is powered by familiar Google Maps technology and has a countdown timer at the top of the page. It features funny cartoon elves and games that are available for users to play while waiting for the big night, such as “Reindeer Race” with Santa and his sleigh team.
Google states that “a team of Google engineers are working hard to track Santa’s sleigh with the most advanced maps and holiday technology available.”
According to Google’s site, users will be able to track Santa’s progress and “learn a little about some of his stops along the way”. Just to be sure that you can track preparation work done by the elves and reindeers as well, the brand announced the release of both Android and Google Glass apps (“once the elves approve”, they wrote), that will be available to download in mid-December.
As an addition to its tracker website, Google is also offering a Chrome extension that links to the site and gives you a choice to activate various animations – such as falling snow – that will surely create a sense of the holidays on your screen.
